We’re excited for those “lean forward” moments that we get to experience in storytelling, both as writers and readers. It fills us with inspiration and delight when readers are surprised by the twists of plot, the ending, the deep characterization.
When you read an excellent story, and instantly crave more… that feeling is powerful. We can’t get enough of it.
If you’re a reader, we want to bring you stories that inspire you, move you, make you feel things, take you on adventures… we want to give you the joy of reading.
If you’re a writer, we want to empower you. We want to bring out the best story you have within you and give it sunlight. We want to champion you to great heights.
If you’re another publisher, or a professional within the literary community, we want to stand alongside you. We want to applaud your wins, cheer on your authors, read your great works. We want to share ours with you in the hopes you’ll do the same.

Every great adventure starts with two things: a dream and a team. Our dream is to bring great stories into the world. It’s to be able to help writers and authors improve and showcase their work. It’s to be a part of the publishing landscape, a member of the community, and a fan of great stories.

YA Fantasy Books and Helping Authors Succeed
HoneySpot Productions isn’t just about finding great stories. Books are awesome – that’s why we’re in this business – but great stories require great people to tell them. With this in mind, HoneySpot Productions is more than an independent publishing company. One of our immediate goals is helping authors succeed. Lawrence, a writer himself, knew the huge gap between writers and publishers. For writers who want to share their work with the world, they have a monumental task ahead of them. HoneySpot Productions wants to help. The only question in front of us was: how?
If the goal was supporting new authors, then we needed to ensure we could do that from start to finish, in all stages of publishing. This means marketing for authors, understanding as a team how we approach editing and providing feedback, and how we know an unpublished manuscript is ready for the world! We want to put our best feet forward, so when we start publishing diverse voices, we know we can champion them correctly. For a new company, this is no small task. We decided to start at home.
When we chose to publish The Five Cursed Kingdoms: The Stone of Despair, we knew we’d have some sharp learning curves to tackle. We were confident in the work, but sometimes the only way to discover what you don’t know is to dive in and find out. By doing this, we’re working out the pain points and paving the way for future authors, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Unsolicited Submissions: Yes or No?
If you’re a new author reading this, we know the big question on your mind. You want to know if you can fire over that manuscript of yours. That depends entirely on when you read this blog. At time of writing, we’re not accepting submissions, but we plan to change this when the time is right: when we know we can best champion your voice and your story. Have patience, and check back soon!
A big thing to keep in mind, if you’re a new author looking for publishing, is our catalog. We are keen on publishing young adult novels, and our debut novel is a YA fantasy book.
Rest assured, when we’re open to new author submissions, we will aim for clarity. Many publishers expect you to comb through their catalog and discover for yourself what they’re looking for. Don’t worry, we’ll be straight up and tell you exactly what we want, when we want it.
What’s the future look like for this indie publishing company?
We’ve had an immense amount of fun bringing The Five Cursed Kingdoms: The Stone of Despair to bookshelves across the globe, and we’re continuing to do so. We’ve grown a lot since then, expanding our team and embarking on amazing creative collaboration with wonderful artists. We’re hoping to bring more of our own innovative storytelling to the world, to foster new authors on their journey, and to become a pillar in the indie publishing community.
But for any of these goals to happen, we need to focus on the basics before all else. A cornerstone of any great publishing house is having great stories to share with the world. We’re a team who loves stories. We love to read them, to share them, to talk about them, and now we love to publish them.
We’re excited to be here, and that you’re on this journey with us. We hope to bring you insight into the publishing world, stories to crank your imagination to high gear, and to share the knowledge to help you on your journey, whatever that may be.
